Just curious if anyone here carries everywhere they legally can including at home?

When not on my person....like at home ....it is nearby.....1 in garage, 2 in house on either end.....all handy and ready to go.

Re: anyone here carry 24/7 ?

I do not carry when I am asleep or in the shower although there are several nearby, and I do not carry at the office. Other than that, I always have at least one pistol on my person at all times. It may just be a J-frame in my pocket, but it is something.

What's the use of being able to carry 24/7 if you don't??

Mostly...

Unless I'm in a bar... but I carry in church.

Seems kinda backwards.

work, home, every where else yup.

Re: anyone here carry 24/7 ?

I have them available at home, but dont wear one on my hip since Im a stay at home dad to a 2 year old. Though there have been times I've worn it around (breaking in a new holster, etc).

When I step foot outside my front door, I carry. I dont go many places where carry is restricted (banks, bars) in the first place. Of course, thats up to personal judgment on how safe you feel vs how dumb the 'law' is.

Its of no serious hinderance to me to carry, so I see little point in NOT carrying.

I have been carrying pretty much everywhere I go lately. I got a new CCW, a Glock 27, and am loving it. I can't carry at any establishment that serves alcohol and I can't carry at work. Other than that, I am almost always packin' heat.

24/7 unless there are metal detectors plus one or two more within general reach. If you don't hold it, you don't own it applies to more than just PM's. A back bedroom might as well be the moon under certain circumstances. Bx3

Re: anyone here carry 24/7 ?

carry when I think I should
no carry when I think no need to.

hope this does not make me any less of a man.

I do have 13 firearms hidden in the house cars
and 20 more in my safe and a couple dozen
in the basement of the inlaws farm in Sd

hope that makes up my man card for not carrying all the time

You bring up a darned good point, but of course if remember some of your past stories correctly, it was a a hard learned lesson!

Re: anyone here carry 24/7 ?

I carry everywhere except home, but then I'm sitting within 10 feet of 4 weapons right now and I would probably be able to get to them quicker then my carry weapon.

Since I started carrying I'm worried that the on time i don't will be the one time I need it, so I always take either the XD or the LCP with me.

I don't feel fully dressed if I leave the house without a weapon.

not in the office.

in the car and house, yes.

office has 30.06 posting so no weapons.

But I keep it in my car and generally have one nearby. But yeah if I was taking a dump or a shower the bad guys would get me..... Damn my luck.

Just like VH, I feel naked without it. I take it off to sleep and to shower. But it is always within reach.

I avoid places that I cannot carry, they are too dangerous for me.

Usually I have a backup on too, just in case.

Here.

I do not have it on my hip when in the house, but it is within easy reach. With me everywhere I go.

I'm ignoring the 30.06 signs( Texas no-carry zones) more and more. Its only an issue if someone "makes" ya - of course - the whole point of concealment is deception. I mean is it the 2A? or is it the 2A + except, except, except...

I'll be armed when I damn well wanna be.

my choice at work is a calculated one. Is the logic/right worth a loss of income for being spotted and reported by some freak? Do I feel safe there?

All choices of being armed, or not, should be calculated... Balance your personal risk. Rights or needs or rights or wrongs..... you have to make choices. Moral high ground goes so far.

All said and done, I still have it in my car and sit a few steps from the door. :P

Honestly, I consider work much lower risk than being in my car.

Ignoring 30.06 rules is a risk you are taking. You may downplay it but you are putting your freedom in the hands of the drone police force. Would you want to lose your concealed carry license, job, etc?

I didn't judge you Blorp - I think we all understand it's a personal decision / judgement call.

but -who said I had a license? The 2A isn't enough? Can we bear arms or not? Conditionally?? I believe the the 2A only recognizes a natural inherent right.
That said and in disclosure - yeah I have a card.

Risk on Principal if anything - at the risk of your life potentially- which bottom line is why one carries.

Pretty much when out and about. Not always, but always at least in the car or home within reach.

When I get out of the car I usually stick it in my back pocket.

Im trying to decide what I want to do. I still have not applied for my C@C permit yet. Im trying to get more comfortable with guns first. Some of the people I hang out with carry 24/7 including a gun near the bed.. I dont know if that's for me though..

I have one in arms reach when in bed. Locked and loaded, but I have no kids around. Yours are old enough to know better aren't they? The thing is, you will get more comfortable as you gain experience. It took almost 5 months for my ccw to arrive btw. It's been taking 3 for most people in NM (used to be shorter but alot applying since Obama), not sure why it took so long unless they found out about that axe murder or something... but hey, I was young and foolish then.

Have you asked people how long it's taking there? States vary.

I put my .45 on in the morning when I get up and take it off when I retire at night. There's also an AK behind the seat in my truck. Then there's the pump .22 and single shot 12 gauge at the back door, revolver in the desk drawer in the store, the pump 12 gauge on the wall by the front door of my house, revolver by my bed, another revolver on my wife's side of the bed. Heaven help a thief that walks in my store!

GW.. I am getting a lot more comfortable with guns in general since I have spent so much time on the range.. The kids are grown and out of the house.. Still I find myself nervous about leaving a loaded gun around... and there is that little problem about my husband being concerned I might accidently sleep walk and shot him in my sleep...:bear_tongue:

My wife has the same illogical fear. Look at it this way. There are MANY, MANY potential weapons in your house (cooking knives, pens, pencils, forks. . .etc) and a host of blunt force trauma artifacts (baseball bats, 2x4s. . .etc). I suspect you have yet to injure your husband in your sleep with all those dangerous objects nearby. Although the marriage is still young-you never know. :36_1_34::sarcasm: Honestly, that is a fallacious reason not to have a gun in the house.

In my house I do NOT carry 24/7. Also, the company I work for would not approve. So there you go. I do not carry a gun of any sort. But I do carry a wonderful pocket knife 24/7. It is nearby when I shower :emotions16:

If life changes and there is a need, I would NOT hesitate to leave the house armed.

The Great Ag

Where do you live that you can't carry concealed in banks? Is it a state law where you live that you can't CC inside banks, or do they just have one of those "no weapons" stickers on the front door that don't carry the weight of law?

Florida.

The instructer was telling us its a no-no at the class, but I cant find the law on in it now, so maybe not. I think I've seen it before. BUt again, that goes back to the "do i feel safe" vs "its against the 'law'" internal debate we all have.

EDIT: Most do have a "no handguns" sign up too though, but other than legaly designated gun free areas, the worst they can do is ask you to leave. I carry in the Mall or movie theater whenever we go (which is rarley) and both have signs that say no weapons, lawfull or otherwise. Concealed means concealed and they arent going to know i have it until i need to use it...hopefully.
